The ultralight and flexible CNT-doped veils are easy-to-shape nonwovens based on thermoplastic polymers and carbon nanotubes, providing conductive properties to the composite structures in which they are embedded.
CNT-doped veils also improve composites’ mechanical properties, increasing their impact strength and limiting delamination.
CNT-doped veils allow for the safe and easy introduction of carbon nanotubes into composites, eliminating the need to work with nanotubes in hazardous powder form. CNT-doped veils are delivered in the form of rolls with a maximum width of 30 cm.
We also produce veils doped with other fillers or without any fillers, depending on the composite structures’ desired functionalities.
The nonwovens are produced from different plastics characterised by different melting temperature and compatible with the resins used in composite production processes, e.g. coPA, PA12, PBT, ECTF and PPS. We can also develop new products adapted to specific customer requirements.
The veils can be delivered in various thicknesses corresponding to areal weight from 10g/m2 to >100g/m2.
The veils have the form of entangled fibres with diameters under 100 μm and thus do not require any chemical binder.
